A Critical Need in Our Schools

In Natrona County, delayed emergency response times combined with Wyoming Statute §21-3-132 (passed in 2017) allowing firearms in schools highlight the urgent need for bleeding control training. Our project is designed to empower teachers and school staff. They will learn to act swiftly and confidently in high-stress situations, protecting students and colleagues until professional help arrives.

Our Goals

Our goals are clear:

  • Train Educators: We aim to provide hands-on Stop the Bleed training. This program, certified by the American College of Surgeons, teaches critical techniques like tourniquet application, wound packing, and pressure control.

  • Equip Classrooms: We want to place a Stop the Bleed kit in every teacher’s desk across Natrona County schools. This ensures immediate access to life-saving tools during emergencies.

  • Build Resilience: Our initiative fosters a culture of preparedness. We want to ensure our community is ready to respond effectively in emergencies.

The Statistics: A Call to Action

Severe bleeding claims over 60,000 lives annually in the U.S. In rural areas like ours, the stakes are even higher. A similar program in Montana schools reduced preventable deaths by 20% in its first year alone. By sponsoring this initiative, you can help us achieve a similar life-saving impact in Natrona County.

Our Funding Goals

To launch this program, we aim to raise between $55,000 and $92,500 to cover:

  • Stop the Bleed Kits: $37,500–$75,000 will equip classrooms with these vital resources.

  • Training Materials: $5,000 is needed for hands-on learning resources that teachers will use.

  • Instructor Fees: $10,000 will support our certified volunteer instructors, including former Navy corpsmen and EMTs.

  • Marketing and Outreach: $2,500 will help spread the word and engage our community.

Be a Part of Something Bigger

By becoming a sponsor, you’re not just funding a program—you’re investing in the safety and resilience of our schools and community. Your support will:

  • Save lives by equipping educators with critical skills and tools.

  • Enhance safety with immediate access to Stop the Bleed kits in every classroom.

  • Build a legacy of preparedness that strengthens Wyoming for generations to come.

Sponsorship opportunities are available for individuals, businesses, and organizations. Every contribution, no matter its size, brings us closer to our goal of starting training sessions by August 1, 2025.
